The Marketing Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing community outreach programs, trade shows and marketing events. In this role, the Marketing Events Coordinator will promote the company’s image and goals through partnerships with schools, municipalities, for-profit and non-profit organizations and the local community. Completion of some college classes; At least two years of experience writing (AP Style preferred), proofreading and creating an editorial calendar in a field such as marketing, advertising, public relations or journalism; Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; Ability to communicate with confidence and poise to executives, media, corporate partners, municipal leaders and elected officials; Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills; Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor; Ability to gather and summarize data for reports, make recommendations and assist with decision making; Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative; Reliable transportation; and Availability to work nights and weekends as needed for events. ​ Associate’s degree in a related field, such as journalism, marketing, public relations or mass communications Valid Class C driver’s license; and Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on a current motor vehicle report (MVR), with no serious accidents or traffic violations. *Texas Disposal Systems is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
