Description:

I am a 75yo retired gentleman who is running an ad here on Craig's List looking for Rotary Hoe Wheels that might be for sale. I am looking in the area from El Paso north up the Rio Grande Valley as far as even Albuquerque I live in Tucson, AZ ( yes, it's a bit of a trip ) and my wife and I return to the area several times each year looking to ad to my "collection" of RHWs. First and foremost I am a "collector" and have accumulated over 160 different types, styles, ages and manufactures of Rotary Hoe Wheels. Because I often must buy a complete implement I have hundreds ( over 1500 at last count ) of wheels in my fenced in back yard storage area. BUT -- my main focus is trying to find RHWs that I do not already have and that I can ad to my "collection" !! THOUGH I also look for some additional wheels that I already have some of. As a result of having so many RHWs I have been re-selling some and making "art" out of others !! This in the hopes of recouping some of the expenses of making these trips. For the most part this is still just an "old guys hobby" and NOT a money maker or even close. Part of my purpose is to save some of the RHWs and keep them from becoming scarp iron and shipped to China. These wheels are part of American farming history and in that Rotary Hoes are not typically being used much any longer ( replaced my changing farming techniques ) they are disappearing from the landscape. Most of the remaining ones are just rusting away, forgotten in someone's field, still sitting where they were left the last time they were separated from a tractor. I am not even sure why I have developed this passion for them ?? BUT I do have one and it has been great fun to travel around meeting folks and learning about farming in the days gone by. It's especially strange in that I was a "city boy" raised in Seattle and until a few years ago had very little idea what a variety of Rotary Hoes had been made over the years. It is very important that the wheels be able to be removed ( or are already removed ) from the implement. Often, after sitting unused for years they become "frozen/rusted" onto their axels and next to impossible to get off :--(( Attached pictures are of some that I have and may want more of. There are many that are not pictured that may be of interest to me ! Just one or one hundred ;--)) IF you think that you might have a wheel ( or wheels ) that I might be interested in -- please contact me. Thank you !!
