Awesome Group House in Brookland, Primary Bedroom/Bath

Hey folks. The last prospective housemate fell through, so we're reposting! Our beloved friend and housemate moved abroad to join the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, and so we’re searching for the next person to join this awesome group house. If you're looking for community-minded people, a nice space, and a great neighborhood, give us a shout so we can talk. The House: Located in Brookland, the house has two floors, plus a basement. It has a beautiful porch in the front, which is great for hanging out, having a drink, and chatting with the neighbors. The backyard is fairly large and has a driveway. One of the housemates loves to garden, so every Summer and Fall we have fresh tomatoes, peppers, squash, okra, etc. The house itself has lots of open communal space on the first floor for hanging out and having friends over. The kitchen is large, with granite countertops, a dishwasher, two fridges, etc.. The washer and dryer is in the basement. The open room is the primary bedroom, with attached full bathroom. It is quite large, and the bathroom is large too (and has a jacuzzi!). It has windows that face east, and since the current housemate has moved abroad and didn’t take his furniture, the room can come furnished (if you like). The house itself is totally furnished. If you have kitchen appliances there’s plenty of room, but there isn't much space for additional furniture in the communal areas. Of course if you have your great aunt's antique TV-stand you're just dying to bring, we'll make room. If you have a bike, there's plenty of space. One of the housemates has a couple that he keeps in the basement. Unfortunately no pets. The Roommates: We are four males, all in our late-twenties to mid thirties. One of us works in mental health, one works in social justice advocacy, one is a music teacher and grad student, and the other is a brewer. We're all open-minded, laid back, enjoy playing music, having friends over, barbequeing in the backyard, going on hike and going camping, biking, and gardening. We all have our own groups of friends, but also have a great community in the house. We often share dinners together, watch movies, have game nights, etc. We're hoping to have someone who will also want to be part of the vibe. The Neighborhood: We're in a fantastic neighborhood. Beautiful, residential, and friendly. There are several restaurants and small stores just a few blocks up (Zeke's Coffee!), including a small grocery store. We also have great neighbors all around us, and have enjoyed getting to know them. There are buses that run up and down Rhode Island Ave and Monroe St on either side of us, and the Brookland Metro Stop is just over a mile to the west. You: You are a sociable person who wants to live in a clean and friendly home. You are a conscientious housemate who does your chores without reminders, cleans up after yourself, and just generally cares about the quality and condition of the house you live in. The Lease: The room is $1093 per month (plus a security deposit of the first month's rent), and we're looking for someone who wants to stay at least a year. Utilities are separate, but end up being less than $100/month for everything. The room is available now.
